Frequently Asked Questions

What is Google Search Console Visualizer?

It is a free browser-based tool that reads your Google Search Console (GSC) performance export file — .xlsx, .xls, or .csv — and instantly turns the raw data into interactive charts, sortable tables, and device/country breakdowns. No login required, no data sent to any server. Built with Laravel by a Laravel developer in Nepal.

How do I export data from Google Search Console?

Open Google Search Console, go to Performance → Search Results, set your desired date range, then click the Export button (top-right) and choose Excel or CSV. Upload that file here to visualise it.

What file formats are supported?

The tool supports .xlsx (Excel), .xls (older Excel), and .csv (comma-separated values) — all standard formats available from the GSC export menu.

Is my data safe? Does it get uploaded to a server?

All processing happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your GSC file is read locally — it is never sent to any external server or third party. You can even use this tool offline after the page has loaded.

What metrics does the tool show?

The tool displays Total Clicks, Total Impressions, Average CTR, and Average Position as summary cards. The Timeline tab shows these as interactive line charts. The Queries, Pages, and Countries tabs show sortable tables with progress bars and position colour-coding. The Devices tab shows a donut chart and device-level breakdown.

Why is my average position showing a high number?

In Google Search Console, position is ranked from 1 (top of search results). A higher number means your pages appear lower in the results. For example, an average position of 25 means your pages appear around the third page of Google. Aim to get key queries below position 10 (first page). If you need help improving your rankings, consult an SEO expert in Nepal to build a data-driven strategy from your GSC data.

Can I compare two date ranges?

The current version visualises a single GSC export at a time. Date range comparison is planned for a future version (v2). For now, you can export two separate date ranges and upload them one at a time to compare manually.

Why are some queries missing from my export?

Google Search Console only shows queries that meet a minimum threshold (typically at least one click or impression in the selected period). Branded queries, very low-volume terms, or data older than 16 months may be excluded by Google automatically before export.

What does CTR mean in Search Console?

CTR (Click-Through Rate) is the percentage of impressions that resulted in a click. For example, if your page appeared 1,000 times in search results and received 50 clicks, your CTR is 5%. A higher CTR means your title and meta description are compelling to searchers.

Can I use this tool on mobile?

Yes. The tool is fully responsive and works on mobile and tablet browsers. However, for the best experience — especially when reviewing large data tables and charts — a desktop or laptop screen is recommended. This tool was designed and developed by a web developer in Nepal with a focus on performance and usability across all devices.
